After getting so many requests for an official review about Travelor, we decided to go for it!
Why is the review needed? Apparently Travelor offers a business opportunity to make money in tourism online, and to create a residual income. We went to check all about this Travelor, and their business opportunity.
What is Travelor?
The first thing we did is to check what is Travelor? Travelor official website is www.travelor.com and you can immediately tell it’s an online booking engine for hotels around the world. After some research in their about page (https://www.travelor.com/en/about) we found out that Travelor official goal is to lower down vacation prices globally using social power, at least that’s what they say. So, we decided to test the product before checking out their business opportunity, to find out if this website, and business is legitimate or fake.
Usually when we are asked to review a business, we are not so happy. This time, we can definitely tell that Travelor website looks really well and similar to other booking platforms. The website definitely needs improvement for their site content, but not all the online booking sites invest in their content. Usually, they invest in the prices, and that’s the next thing we went to check.
After comparing Travelor with leading booking sites around the world, we found out that Travelor does have attractive prices. But, as always, It’s important to compare with different websites before making a booking. Travelor won in some cases and lost some cases, looks totally normal.
Now, we didn’t want to take any chances and decided to make a booking on our own! We decided to book a room in Radisson Blu hotel in Bucharest. We went for a totally refundable room (free cancelation) and booked a room for $150. We didn’t want to risk more than that, knowing that we might not get our money back. The booking process was totally fine, after booking the room we got a receipt and hotel voucher. Now, we wanted to see if it’s for real since there are a lot of scam websites out there. We called the hotel ourselves to make sure our booking arrived the hotel. We found out that the booking was really accepted by the hotel, so we can estimate that Travelor is a real booking website. What is left for us to do now is to try and cancel our free booking and see what happens.
When we did the booking, it stated in the hotel voucher that the cancelation is free of charge up to 2 weeks before arrival. We used the customer support email we received on the booking confirmation email and asked to cancel the booking. After no longer then 3 hours we got an email back the the room was cancelled free of charge with the credit invoice. After all that, we are positive that Travelor is a real company and the product actually works.
Now, we were eager to find out more about their business opportunity.
Travelor business opportunity
First thing we did is to check their official information page explaining the business opportunity. You can check it yourself and continue with our review about their offer.
We also watched a video series launched on May 2019 explaining the business. We wanted to gather all the information we can find before writing our review. You have those videos right here
Basically, Travelor offers the opportunity to enjoy multiple profit channels:
- Personal sales
- Referring newcomers
- and the one they are most proud of – bonus for every sale closed on their website, by other agents or directly through their main website.
The cost: $150 monthly payment.
So, how profitable is it?
Let’s start with the profit chanel they are proud of the most, bonus for every sale closed on their website.
Well, this is not a standard offer. We had to check it closely.
On the one hand, there could be lots of reservations (the leading websites can close hundreds of thousands of booking a day!). On the other hand, with how many people the bonus is shared with? With what we understand in their page, their goal is that every agent joins them will be profitable, so they are limiting the amount of agents to ensure the profits. But, they also say that it’s not like you join and get rich without doing nothing. You can a certain monthly bonus when you join and it grows by 2 reasons: 1. As you are more active, you get a bigger bonus. 2. As Travelor grows and close more bookings, you get a bigger bonus. Travelor is looking for agents who will grow with the company and their bonus will grow as well. Of course this bonus is regardless to your personal activity, which we are about to review.
About the bonus: You get the bonus regardless of what you do, so this is not a major element to determine if the opportunity is good or not. As it sounds, if you get a bonus for each sale, and it’s limited to certain amount of people, it can get very high. We can see the logic investing in the agent, so the company grows too. After all, Travelor says their goal is to be the leading company in the world, and for that, they need a big social power to promote the company together with. Both sides earn. And seriously without social power no one has a real chance to overcome the industry giants.
Let’s check now the personal sales profit channel. Travelor is providing a special link for every agent, to promote the link and get purchases. For every purchase they are paying 80% of the profit received from the booking. Actually, after a major check no company is giving out this amount. It’s usually between 25-40 percent of the profit.
If you don’t understand how it works, it’s actually very simple. You get your own link, every hotel booked using this specific link, you get your commission. The advantage in the field of tourism is that every person in the world is booking hotels, so the potential is infinite. The disadvantage is that there is competition, but competition is good. For serious people it can really work out well. Probably won’t make money too easy, but with a small investment and learning can create substantial income.
Last profit channel, referring newcomers. Today we notice that most companies give the option to refer new employees (in this case agents). Travelor pays a very nice amount for referrals, $50 monthly commission. Most companies pay just the one-time commission, here it keeps going. It’s a better payment strategy to keep growing and not looking for a one-time payment. There is also an option to join affiliates (marketing experts) and earn 20% of their total profits, which can be a major profit channel if you find the right people. There is no limit to the amount of agents and affiliates that you can join, so it can get very lucrative. The only limitation is of the total amount of agents that can join this program. When they reach the limit you can’t join more agents to your team, just affiliate. Other then the $50 monthly commission, you don’t get nothing from the newcomers activity. So we don’t see any MLM component here (MLM – Multi Level Marketing). With that said, we don’t see anything wrong in a good MLM company. Nevertheless, this is not the case.
To sum it up
We were surprised to see Travelor website actually works really good. Usually when we’re asked for review, the product doesn’t function well so this is a nice surprise. We also see that Travelor are working with leading companies around the world which encourage our confidence. And if that’s not enough, we found out that Travelor has an official page in ITB Berlin and they made an appearance there this year! Another confidence boost. Click here to see their page on ITB
The business opportunity looks legit.
You can make profit selling hotels using your link, fast calculation shows that selling in $2,000 a month you are already profitable. It’s like 2-4 clients a month sounds pretty easy to do.
If you refer newcomers, and you get $50 a month each, it means that referring 3 people is already covering the monthly payment. So actually covering the payment looks easy enough. And from that point to grow and make more profits.
We will try to get in touch with Travelor agents, and also to log in ourselves to their systems to check the tutorials and the system from inside.
From what we’ve seen until now, the risk is really low (considerately), $150 a month with no commitment, and the chances to profit are good.
